Help Save Probation Officers' Jobs!

Turn Out Monday, June 14 10 am at the State Building
Claiming we can no longer afford it, the Governor's new budget proposes slashing federal funding for probation camps and diverting them to other programs. Unless the Legislature restores the funding, theses camps will soon close! Some 4,000 LA county probation officers and 60,000 juvenile offenders are counting on your support.

Tell the governor, "No Way!" On Monday, June 14 at 10 a.m., hundreds of probation officers and other County employees, as well as community activists, will gather for a press conference in front of the State Building at 300 S. Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles. The delegation will hand deliver 5,000 postcards to the Governor's office inside the building.

Last month, 3090 members joined together with other AFCME members to help save the jobs of 18 doctors and nurses who work in our city's jails. Turn out again and make your voice heard.
